Being formerly Three Brothers Marine I am now working with Vela Boatworks in Jacksonville, Florida. I had thought I was going to retire but have been drawn into this new project. Besides building the prototype Vela 37' Catamaran CC we are also doing service work and restorations.    Yep, that's me, all that and a little bit of Pirate too. When I get a spot of free time I do graphics for the web (and for boats), a bit of cartooning, a touch of carving, and when I get really bored I dress like a pirate and have a pint or two of grog.

   ...of course not all wives agree. The key is not to let it turn into a "project boat". It's often tempting to pick up that one you have been driving by every day. With its beautiful lines and classic shape you lose yourself in dreams of sailing the Seven Seas on your pristine yacht while ignoring the faded glass, rotten wood and the 3' tall grass growing all around it. A very wise man once told me, "If it's free you can't afford it". I have found that to be very true in the past.

    As you can see my work is cut out for me. I refuse to paint it so all the repairs and finish will be fiberglass and gel coat. I hate the ones people paint...
